We have a large and growing collection of books for you to consult and borrow.
Books are listed on Hunter (the Library’s one-stop-shop search and discovery tool) or the classic Library catalogue. E-books are also via Hunter or the Library catalogue. See our E-books section for more details.
Currently you can borrow up to 10 items at any one time using the self-issue. Books can be borrowed for either 1 week or 3 weeks.
Books may be renewed as long as they are not overdue, there are no outstanding fines, and they are not required for another user. Books can be renewed 5 times using the library catalogue, on the internet or by phone. Books can be renewed more than 5 times if they are brought in to the Library for re-issuing, as long as no one has reserved them.
Books can be returned through the 24 hour drop slot situated outside the library in the lift lobby. Books should be returned by the date stamped on the label or printed on your receipt. The Library sends out a reminder that books are about to become overdue. Fines are charged for overdue items.
St. George’s Library provides a library and knowledge service for ALL trust staff – it’s not just for doctors and nurses, we have produced a St George's Library Guide to Non-Clinical Books and Resources to highlight books in our collection that support staff in areas including administration, business, catering, estates and facilities, human resources, and management.
